Can I
Bloom
And believe that
Despite ashen and tarnished shadows
Even if built of bricks and sticks and stones
Even if seeded in the Antarctic, Gobi or Sahara
Perhaps from the jaded, I could gush lush turquoise and emerald leaves
Maybe amethyst and marble, alabaster and opal could blossom
I might sprout topaz and sapphire, garnet and pearl petals
And shoot from jet bleakness and dark matters
Grow up from anthracite and obsidian
Sprinkled with stardust
Sown with sunbeams
Dappled with dew
I could flower
I can
